Website and store for the largest publishing house in the Karkonosze Mountains

Comprehensive website and e-commerce store implementation for the AD-REM publishing house in Jelenia Góra – the largest publishing house in the region. The project included the creation of an information architecture, layout, a WooCommerce store, and full automation for managing books, e-books, and audiobooks.

Project Description

For the AD-REM publishing house, I designed and implemented a modern website and a fully functional online store based on WordPress and WooCommerce. The publishing house offers over 1,400 titles, so designing a clear information architecture and an intuitive filtering and search system was crucial.

I implemented an extended product data model, incorporating characteristics specific to the publishing industry – including weight, format, dimensions, number of pages, year of publication, ISBN, and binding type. These fields were fully automated so that editors could quickly and accurately enter new publications.

The store also supports e-books and audiobooks – after purchase, the system generates a download link for the customer, secured against abuse. Additionally, I implemented a hierarchical access system for the editorial team, enabling content, product, and order management.

The entire system was coded using Bootstrap, with full responsiveness for smartphones and mobile devices. The project also included the implementation of a LiteSpeed server, performance optimization, security configuration, and technical SEO.
